To most American sports fans, River-boat Racing ranks somewhere between mumblety-peg and frog jumping. First of all, only six bona fide river boats still operate in the U.S., and only two of them--the Delta Queen, which cruises from Cincinnati to points as remote as New Orleans and St. Paul, and the Belle of Louisville, a smaller excursion steamer--regularly race each other.
