The world record for snuff taking has been set by Hermann Schnatz of West Germany, who sniffed one sixth of an ounce of snuff in 53 seconds, beating the previous record by two seconds. After the contest, Schnatz sneezed with such force that his glass eye was dislodged and it sailed across the room into the judges' box.
