There are loads of cheap laughs in The Choirboys, adapted by Christopher Knopf from Joseph Wambaugh's bestselling novel. The squad of L.A. policemen on exhibition are confirmed racists, drunks, punks, sexual samurai or practicing sadomasochists in their off-duty hours, which are mostly devoted to juvenile bacchanalian revels they call choir practice. Consorting with whores, shooting at ducks in MacArthur Park or handcuffing one of their bare-assed buddies to a tree until a cruising faggot spots...
