Learning to fly an airplane is a lot of fun and cheaper than you might imagine. Flight training is usually on an hourly basis--about $30 an hour for both aircraft and instructor. The total will come out to something like $1500, which is less than you'd spend for just a season on the ski slopes. Less, for that matter, than you'd pay for a two-week stay at a good tennis camp.
