Illinois Congressman Henry Hyde, one of the sponsors of the Human Life Amendment, has tried to reassure us: Never mind that doctors, scientists, philosophers and theologians cannot agree on when biological life becomes human life. "Defining when life begins," says Hyde, "is the sort of question Congress is designed to answer, is competent to answer, must answer."I just hope Congress is able to handle a few more details.
