Carl Jefferson's noble effort to produce jazz recordings that endure has made his label, Concord Jazz, eminent. He's courted a wide range of musicians, from well-known to obscure, and given them studio time to play as they play in the real world. It's a setting free of pretension, hype and eccentricity.
