An Awesome Real-Life adventure, The Flight of the Eagle (Summit) is Swedish director Jan Troell's account of a mission impossible undertaken back in 1897 by three foolhardy Swedes. The trio, led by an engineer named S. A. Andrée, had intended to fly over the Arctic Ocean to the North Pole in a hydrogen balloon, but the expedition was doomed from the start; the men's remains were found 33 years later, along with a remarkably well-preserved collection of photographic plates recording the final day...
