It would be nice if we could call I, Tina: My Life Story (Morrow), by Tina Turner and Rolling Stone senior editor Kurt Loder, an inspired rendering of one woman's struggle to overcome an abusive spouse on the road to a multiplatinum album, a movie role opposite Mel Gibson and McCall's ads. Alas, this book isn't inspiring--or very revealing, either.
