Saturday-Night BreathingAmsterdam--For reasons not altogether clear, premature babies seem to breathe better when fast music is piped into their incubators. Most premature infants suffer respiratory problems and the music appears to increase their breathing rate. The babies were treated to the crooning of Perry Como without much effect, but, according to a researcher, "When we changed that to disco music, the breathing rhythm also improved.
