This box chronicles the fall of Southern soul and the label's inability to come to terms with funk and disco. But Eddie Floyd, Frederick Knight, the Soul Children and--most of all--Isaac Hayes and the Staple Singers more than keep a devotee's attention. Guess that makes me one.
