The reunion of the Flatlanders is the high point of The Horse Whisperer (MCA/Nashville) soundtrack. Lubbock, Texas singers Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock recorded one album in 1972 as the Flatlanders before embarking on successful solo careers.
