As a staunch libertarian who has dropped 50 pounds by counting calories, I am in nearly complete agreement with Melba Newsome's dismissal of New York mayor Michael Bloomberg's war on oversize soft drinks ("Hands Off My Big Gulp," October). I take issue, however, with her assertion that requiring restaurantsto post calorie counts on menus somehow restricts "an individual's right to pollute his or her own body." I would never support any law that would regulate portion sizes...
