When Playmate JenniferJackson walked into PLAYBOY’s offices in 1964, she was originally seeking clerical work.
But before she knew it, she was donning the famous bunny costume and going to work at the Playboy Club in Chicago.

Jackson was the first Black woman to pose for PLAYBOY in a time when segregation was alive and well (fortunately, the Civil Rights act of 1964, passed later that same year, changed that). A few years later in 1971, Darine Stern graced the cover, marking the first time a Black woman was on the cover of PLAYBOY.
