Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles (-7) – Total: 44.5
We’re getting an absolute banger on Black Friday, as the Chicago Bears hit the road to face the defending-champion Philadelphia Eagles. As a seven-point favorite, the Eagles will look to get back on track after last week’s loss, while the Bears look to win their fifth straight.
This matchup of 8-3 teams features two of the top-three teams in the NFC, so a win here goes a long way in a potential playoff rematch in January. Should these teams finish with the same records, the winner of today’s matchup would get homefield advantage as a tiebreaker.
In this article, I’ll take a look at my best prop bets for the Bears at Eagles matchup on Black Friday. The three players I’ll be looking out for are Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, and Caleb Williams. Let’s see what we’ve got in store for this matchup:
Best Bets for NFL Black Friday: Bears at Eagles (Nov. 28)
Jalen Hurts: Anytime Touchdown (-110)
We’ve watched the Tush Push get the job done flawlessly over the last couple of weeks, and there’s every reason to believe it’ll deliver again. The Bears’ defensive line has had a rough go, especially when they’re on the road, giving up the third-most rushing yards away from home (146.5 per game).
Since the Eagles are coming off a loss, they usually bounce back and handle business. It was interesting to see Saquon Barkley limited to just 22 rushing yards on 10 attempts last week in Dallas, so Philly could opt to keep things simple and let Hurts take over on the ground today.
DeVonta Smith: Over 52.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
The Bears have had it easy the past couple of weeks, squaring off with quarterbacks like JJ McCarthy and Mason Rudolph, hardly the toughest competition. That’s why only one wideout (Justin Jefferson) managed to clear 60 yards in those matchups. Now, things get a bit trickier going up against Jalen Hurts, who has a clear favorite target versus zone defenses.
Chicago leans on zone coverage about 65% of the time, which is exactly where Smith does his best work. He leads the Eagles in targets (47), catches (36), and yards (507) against zone, making him the go-to guy in this look.
Here’s a fun stat: Smith’s 507 receiving yards against zone are more than AJ Brown and Dallas Goedert combined (492) in that same category. Smith has gone over the 52.5-yard mark in four of his last five games and seven of eleven on the year, so the trend is definitely in our favor.
Caleb Williams: Over 22.5 Rushing Yards (-110)
If you’ve tuned into Bears’ games this season, you know how electric Williams is when he’s moving around the pocket. The flip side? He’s still taking a while to work through his reads, which leads to a lot of chaos on those plays. Well, expect that chaos meter to crank up heading into Philly. The Eagles’ pass rush is absolutely going to force Williams to pull something creative out of his bag.
Philly’s defense is already giving up the ninth-most rushing yards per game (23.4) and per carry (4.1) to QBs, so Williams is definitely going to get his chances. Honestly, this matchup has shades of that Week 2 game where Patrick Mahomes scrambled for 66 yards just to keep Kansas City in it. Williams has hit the 20+ rushing yard mark in five straight games, and the Bears will need him to keep making plays with his legs if they want to hang around tonight.
