It seems only yesterday, though actually it was about five years ago, when I was a slip of a boy, that I wrote a thoughtful essay for this journal of enlightenment on the decay of falconry in England, showing how that sport, once a popular craze, had completely lost its grip on the public and had ceased to exist.
