Over the past couple of years, the articles we've published by John Clellon Holmes have been in the travel-memoir genre. Wherever he's gone--Munich, Florence, Naples, Los Angeles--Holmes has taken in the moods, the ghosts, the stone-and-wood realities of the place and written about it with vivid perception.
