It’s no secret that Charli XCX looks sexy no matter what she wears, but what’s even better is that she feels it. Speaking to Kylie Jenner for her Fall 2026 Playboy cover story, Charli talked about posing in her underwear on the Thames in front of strangers.
Charli and longtime collaborator and photographer Aidan Zamiri cooked up a plan to shoot on a boat for her Playboy feature, tourists milling about on the river’s edge. For some, stripping down in front of pedestrians might be daunting, but for Charli, it was just another day. And, no surprise, she said “the tourists were into it.”
“I feel quite comfortable in underwear,” Charli said when Kylie asked her how she gets comfortable enough to bare her underwear for the camera. (Perhaps this is an answer we should have seen coming, given Charli’s missive about guessing the color of said underwear on her extended edition of Brat.) “I feel sexy in underwear, and I feel sexy in a fully tailored suit.”
For Charli, feeling sexy means feeling confident. The feelings are intertwined, and that essence of sensuality is core to her being. “Sex, sexuality, and confidence are all very sacred things to me,” she said. “If I could feel them on the max, all the time, then I would.”
Aside from when she’s in her underwear, Charli said she feels hottest when she’s with people who know and love her, and when she’s creating something. In fact, that was part of what made Charli want to pose for Playboy. “It’s such an iconic magazine, of course. I love the logo. I love underwear. I love female bodies. I love full-out sexiness,” she said.
Maybe were biased, but we think full-out sexiness has been achieved.
