In 1956, an impassioned reader begged PLAYBOY editors to consider producing a calendar that featured all the Playmates of the preceding year. Knowing a brilliant idea when they heard it, the team obliged and in 1958 published the first Playmate calendar. It became not only an instant success and an annual affair, but also a much-loved staple of homes and garages around the country. This year, like every other, the calendar features a dozen brilliant women who are sure to bring some excitement to your social planning in the upcoming year.
