Noemie Neuens
"I'm always chasing summer," Noémie says with a smile that suggests she's routinely catching it. The 24-year-old Luxembourg native splits her time between Cape Town, South Africa, and beachy European hot spots. "When winter hits in Barcelona, where I am now, I go to Cape Town," she says. "I went there four years ago and fell in love with Table Mountain and everything between there and the
ocean."
Noémie has built her modeling career around this rhythm of seasonal migration. But her key to happiness runs deeper than nomadic wandering. "I have ADHD, so I get small dopamine hits from random things, like ticking off my to-do list," she says. "But overall, I don't think a single thing should bring me joy. I need to wake up every day grateful for my life, my health, and my opportunities."
She arrived at this mindset following profound loss. Six and a half years ago, her older brother, her only sibling, passed away. The experience transformed how she views both life and mental health. "Something dramatic happens and can pull you down very far, but you can choose to look at things differently," she reflects. "You can choose to stand up or stay in that sad spiral." Now she makes it her mission to encourage others to speak up about their struggles and process their emotions.
Traveling with Marlowe, her small Pomeranian, Noémie defied everyone who said getting a dog would complicate her global lifestyle. "Waking up with a dog in your bed? Always good. Having a bad day? Cuddle your dog," she says, laughing. The well-trained pup—"He's not a normal small dog. I trained him to not bark at everything"—accompanies her across continents, adding joy to every destination.
Her brutal candor often surprises people who assume women with beauty must be fake or mean. "I'm very honest. When I think of something, I say it," Noémie explains. "I think harsh truths break bubbles and move you further in the direction you're supposed to go." This directness extends to her six-year relationship, as she recently told her boyfriend he needed to work on his emotional side—or she'd leave. "Surprisingly, it was well received. He realized it was something he needed to work on."
For someone who photographs tall, Noémie stands at just five feet, five inches, but her presence fills any room. Her best friend, Lily, brings out her energy with bubbly conversation and genuine listening, while quiet tropical beaches, not crowded Barcelona shores, provide her with the best rejuvenation.
"A successful life is one you live happily, no matter how much you have," Noémie says. "Everything you're looking for is already here. You are all you need." It's a mentality born from loss, refined by wanderlust, and practiced daily under whatever sun she can find.
