Perhaps we’re biased, but we believe the women who appear on Playboy‘s cover to be arbiters of taste. They are inherently sexy, and therefore well-positioned to determine what is and is not sexy. So, take this as Bible: Fall 2026 cover star Charli XCX has officially named Jack Black a sex symbol.
As a fan of School of Rock, Charli said she finds the 57-year-old actor, comedian, and musician quite sexy. Her main attraction to Mr. Black? He’s one of a kind.
“He’s funny. He’s talented. He’s cool,” Charli said. “He’s original, you know? I think that makes people sexy when they’re just doing their thing.”
Charli told Playboy that she feels sexiest herself when she’s around people who understand her (mainly, husband George Daniel), and when she’s on stage, creating and doing what she loves. A sexy photo, she said, is one that’s maybe messy and vulnerable, capturing someone’s true essence. In other words, sex appeal doesn’t fit in a traditional box to Charli. To her, it means someone who is authentic and unique, someone who does what they love to do—like Black.
Black has been all-in as a creative since day one. While doing press for Anaconda last year, Black said in a video for Rotten Tomatoes that he never had a traditional job, save for a brief, “soul-sucking” moment as a telemarketer. “It was like, ‘It’s showbiz or bust. I’m going all in on acting or music, and if I can’t do it, I’ll just live at my mom’s,'” he said. “I had no plan B, no backup.”
Successful, confident, authentic—what more could you want? According to Charli, not much.
