Thursday Night Football kicks off Week 9 of the NFL season as the Baltimore Ravens travel to face the Miami Dolphins in an AFC showdown. If you took a quick glance, you might not believe there’s much firepower in a matchup of 2-5 and 2-6 teams; even though we all know that is not the case.
Lamar Jackson is back under center for the Ravens after a lengthy absence, and that puts them right back in the conversation of winning the AFC North. However, the Dolphins were very impressive last week, so you have to wonder if they can go on a run of their own.
As kickoff approaches, the betting landscape is full of possibilities—from spreads and totals to enticing player props. In the following sections, we’ll break down the best bets for Ravens at Dolphins, highlighting spread picks and top prop opportunities featuring De’Von Achane, Derrick Henry, and Mark Andrews. Let’s dive into the action and uncover where the value lies for Thursday night’s matchup.
Best Bets for Ravens at Dolphins | Over 50.5 Points (-110)
Both of these defenses stepped up to the challenge on Sunday, but I’m not expecting the same here on a short week. Up to this point in this season, the Ravens are allowing the fifth-most total yards per game (379.6) while the Dolphins allow the 10th-most (344.4), and I believe the overall body of work will show up here tonight.
The Dolphins’ defense finally had their breakout game on Sunday, but it’s important to remember the Falcons were missing their QB and top WR. As for the Ravens, they are getting healthier on both sides of the ball, and Jackson’s return certainly gives them a rocketing boost to the offense.
Look for Baltimore to hit on quite a few big plays tonight, which would make Miami’s offense put the foot on the gas pedal even more. For all the factors I wanted you to take into account for the defense’s great performance, Atlanta still had their defensive guys and were incredible at home going into that game.
Best Bets for Ravens at Dolphins | 2-Leg SGP: De’Von Achane & Derrick Henry Anytime TDs (+145)
Two of the league’s top running backs get very (VERY!) favorable matchups this week and, luckily for us, they’re in the same game tonight.
Achane goes against a Ravens’ defense that has allowed a touchdown to RBs in every game this season. Not to mention, Achane can score both on the ground and through the air, as Baltimore ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing and receiving touchdowns allowed to opposing RBs. It also helps Achane’s case that the Ravens are allowing the third-highest yards per carry (4.2) to running backs this season.
Henry faces a Dolphins defense that ranks in the bottom five of the NFL in nearly every advanced metric against opposing RBs. Miami must also account for the return of Jackson, and we have seen that distraction open massive holes for King Henry plenty of times. While Bijan Robinson was unable to find paydirt last week, his backup did, making that four straight games where an RB has scored a touchdown, including three by Quinshon Judkins just 11 days ago.
Best Bets for Ravens at Dolphins | 2-Leg SGP: Mark Andrews Over 2.5 Receptions + Over 28.5 Receiving Yards (+215)
Miami is getting absolutely torched by opposing TEs, allowing 5.9 catches (8th-most in NFL) and 64.3 yards (5th-most in NFL). Over their last three games, we have seen TEs like Kyle Pitts (9-59-0) and Oronde Gadsden (7-68-0) have some impressive stat lines against the Fish.
I understand that everyone would love to add a TD in this SGP, but let’s move forward here with caution. Despite all of the success TEs are having against the Dolphins, only one player at that position has found the end zone over the last five games.
